AWALL WAGRIS MOHAMMED, Afar Region, Ethiopia, a sequential bachelor/master's student at Century (BA, 2005; MA, 2007), completed his degrees in public administration in 2007. His thesis was unique and timely in that instead of involving polling people through questionnaires on important issues, as the data gathering for his project, he designed an intervention and went into the field to carry it out, to solve the problem he had posed.

American Century University and World Wide Education reach agreement for Joint Master's Degrees in Business Administration and Public Administration

American Century University has reached an agreement with World Wide Education to offer joint master's degrees in business administration and public administration. World Wide Education, that includes Institutes of both Joseph Schumpeter and Hans Sachs, are accredited by the Austrian Ministry of Education

Laleh Skrenes (PhD 2006, with Honors, Canada) updated us on her experiences since graduation. In 2002, she started a private practice, working with rural physicians for referred clients. Ted Klontz (PhD, Psychology, 2006, with Honors, Tenn. USA) was the subject of the feature story in our last edition of The Centurion, having recently had his book, The Financial Wisdom of Ebenezer Scrooge: Transforming Your Relationship with Money, published. Since that time, Ted reports that he has been quite busy, not only in his practice, but in research and writing as well.

Solomon Gezahegn (MBA, Business Administation, 2008, Ethiopia) reports that he has been quite busy since receiving his MBA degree. In addition to entering and working seriously in the doctoral program, he is also manager of 2 developing business organizations, and is director the Afro-Arab Strategic Consultancy firm which offers security, legal, and other services to businesses. A number of college graduate specialists work with him in the consultancy enterprise.

Hicham Talbi (PhD, Public Administration, 2007, with Honors, Morocco) wrote, stating that since graduating he joined NOVARTIS AG, a multinational pharmaceutical company, as Staffing & Talent Manager for Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya, and then moved to Zurich Financial Services, a multinational insurance company, as head of HR & Logistics. He stated that his degree had been of great value to him both in his personal and professional life.

J. DONALD (‘Don') WILLIAMS, (PhD, Education, 2008. with Honors, Penns.USA), a recent graduate, has founded the American International Academy (AIA), to assist students worldwide in obtaining an American high school education, via the internet, while studying in their country of origin. Students enrolled in AIA become proficient in English and position themselves well for study in America, should they choose to attend an American college or university, to further their education.

AIA offers student-centered instruction within grades 9-12. Students successfully completing the academic requirements outlined by the US Dept. of Education are awarded a high school diploma. The promotion of South-South trade has been a specialty of the International Trade Center (ITC). However, despite professed attention of the international community during the past few years, the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) continue to be marginalized in the global development process, and in academic literature.
