BACCALAUREATE OF SCIENCE IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

DESCRIPTION
: Students in ACU's Business Administration program develop competency in applying technology to business strategy, management and decision-making through case studies, team projects, Internet use and web page development, as well as computer applications and systems integration. Majors are offered in Accounting, Business Information Systems, Finance, Health Services Management, Hospitality Management, Human Resource Management, Operations Management, Project Management, Sales and Marketing, Security Management, Small Business Management & Entrepreneurship, and Technical Communication. Availability of majors/concentrations varies by location. In addition, general business options are available in lieu of a specific major/concentration. Students who have not chosen an area of specialization may begin the program in "Undeclared" status; however, they must select a major/concentration or general business option plan by the time they have earned, at ACU, 36 semester-credit hours toward their degree.

OBJECTIVES: The Business Administration program is designed to produce graduates who are able to:

Communicate effectively using oral, written and electronic documentation skills.
Demonstrate leadership while working effectively in a team environment to accomplish a common goal.
Demonstrate a foundation of business knowledge and decision-making skills that supports and facilitates lifelong professional development.
Understand the legal, ethical and human value implications of personal, social and business activities, as well as the significance of business trends to the larger society.
Use critical thinking, and creative and logical analysis skills, strategies and techniques to solve complex business problems.
Implement and apply current technical and nontechnical solutions to business activities, systems and processes.

CAREERS: Controller, Human Resources Director, Project Manger, Marketing Manager, Human Resources Manager, Retail Store Manager

Requirements: TWELVE (12) courses in the field of study - 48 Units

General Education Courses - THIRTY SIX (36) units are required to be met within the sixty (60) units transferred in at admission, or added to the Study Plan in lieu of some of the General and Major courses listed within each of the Baccalaureate Degree Programs here in. These will be nine (9) General Education courses in the fields of English, Humanities, Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Social Sciences. Total of 36 units American Century University will give credit for any of the General Education courses tested by CLEP for students having taken and earned the equivalent grade of C or higher. Taking of a CLEP test can be arranged on the following Website: Universityboard.com/student/testing/clep/about.html. This is a national program with CLEP centers throughout the United States.
