ASSOCIATE OF ARTS IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE, A.A.

DESCRIPTION:
ACU's Associate of Arts degree in Criminal Justice presents the major components of the American criminal justice system. It includes criminal behavior patterns, law enforcement organizations, juvenile systems, legal principles and doctrines and fundamentals of criminal investigations. Courses utilize hands-on activities and analytical exercises to supplement the presentation of academic information.

OBJECTIVES:The following objectives are designed to meet American Century University's mission and its objectives.

To develop students' understanding of the American criminal justice system

To present an review of institutions, laws, theories and players that make up the system

To assist graduates in obtaining entry-level criminal justice positions

To prepared students for employment or advancement in law enforcement fields

CAREERS: Corrections Officer, Private Security, and Airport Security Officer

Requirements: Seven (7) General Education Courses = 28 Credits (with all Associate Degree programs of study)

General Education Courses include: CSC 100, College Success Course, PD 101, Professional Development, ECO 101, Economics, ENG 101, HIS 101, PSY 101- Psychology, SOC 101 - Sociology.
